Jacqueline Manyaapelo and Khayalethu Witbooi

Jacqueline Manyaapelo is a dance teacher, choreographer, director and performer. As company member at Jazzart Dance Theatre, she was involved in productions such as Light Beyond the Door with Neo Muyanga, and Moya Wa Sechaba with Sibongile Khumalo and Tshepo Mngoma. From 2010 to 2013, she was Artistic Director at Jazzart, where she directed and choreographed various productions. Her first experimental work in 2014 saw Jacqueline collaborating with visual artist Khayalethu Witbooi for the Pan African Market.

Khayalethu Witbooi is a resident artist at Greatmore Studios. He has had two solo exhibitions at Worldart Gallery, including My People, Let Pharaoh Go, where he showcased his collage-style paintings. Khayalethu has also been part of noted group exhibitions, including the Johannesburg Art Fair 2013, Barnard Gallery’s Paint Matters and most recently Plakkers at Brundyn+.
