Julie Lovelace
Julie Lovelace holds a Masters degree in Visual Art from the University of Johannesburg. Her unsanctioned public art interventions in Johannesburg present an alternative view of the city. By ‘re-purposing’ spaces beyond shopping malls and gated communities, she produces a series of unfolding encounters with urban dwellers, creating the potential for transformation and construction of a new experiential engagement within the city.
Julie has recently exhibited images of her unsanctioned interventions on Twenty: Contemporary Art from South Africa, curated by Gordon Froud.
