Loyiso Damoyi

Theatre director Loyiso Damoyi currently manages the Khayelitsha Performing Arts group, which provides creative after-school programming and mentorship to more than 90 young people. He organises regular performances, teaches advanced acting and performance skills and encourages positive life change in his own community.

Loyiso has directed various award-winning productions, including Uhlazo and Ukuphandwa Kwedlaka, and has participated in the Zabalaza Festival (Baxter Theatre Centre, Cape Town), Infecting The City Public Arts Festival (Cape Town), Alumni Festival (Khayelitsha), Makukhanye Arts Room (Khayelitsha) and the Heritage Festival (Stellenbosch).
