Soul City

Reunion’s oldest dance crew, Soul City became an official dance company in 2008 under the artistic direction of Didier Boutiana. Rooted in the culture of the Reunion Islands and using Hip Hop as its primary form of creative expression, Soul City doesn’t limit itself to the pursuit of physical movement or any one style of dance, but focuses instead on ‘openness’ as a key concept.

Soul City supports the progress of emerging, semi-professional dancers in the Reunion Islands though training and professional placement. Since 2013, Soul City has been company-in-residence at the Théâtre Léspas Culturel Leconte de Lisle.
