Infecting The City (ITC) is a vibrant and innovative annual public arts festival that takes place in the City of Cape Town.
The Festival strives to bring exceptional, socially-engaged performance and visual art out of theatres and galleries and into the communal spaces of Cape Town’s Central Business District and beyond. Transforming the city into an outdoor venue, where art is free and accessible to everyone.
This year, the Africa Centre, in collaboration with the Gordon Institute for Performing and Creative Arts, launches the ITC Sessions. The ITC Sessions are a series of events in diverse spaces, keeping the unpredictable, inspiring spirit of Infecting The City alive. Taking place over several dates in March and June, the ITC Sessions are concentrated on specific locations: the Company’s Garden and St Georges Mall in the CBD, and further afield in Langa.
DATES:
ITC Session 1: 29 & 30 March – The Company’s Garden. Starting point: 17:00 – below Iziko SA Museum
ITC Session 2: 12 & 13 April – St Georges Mall. Starting point: 11:00 – corner of St Georges Mall & Waterkant Street
