Indoni Dance, Arts and Leadership Academy
Established to provide professional dance and integrated arts training to youth without the financial or career support required, Indoni Dance, Arts and Leadership Academy is currently based at the Masikanye Centre in Gugulethu. The Academy honours the heritage of South Africa, with a contemporary African-centred approach to promoting art as a channel for economic, personal and professional development.
Award-winning artist, Sbonakaliso Ndaba leads Indoni’s choreographic team. As a dancer and choreographer she has been in a wide range of local and international dance companies, including Pheduka Dance Theatre, Jazzart Dance Theatre and Moving into Dance. Her awards include the KwaZulu-Natal Dance Link for Best Choreographer, the Playhouse Company for Women in the Arts, the Daimler Chrysler for South African Choreography and most recently the 2016 Cultural Affairs for Best Contribution to Performing Arts: Dance.
Indoni Dance, Arts and Leadership Academy is supported by the National Lotteries Commission and the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
