Yazeed Kamaldien

As a newcomer to Infecting the City, Cape Town-born journalist, photographer and documentary filmmaker, Yazeed Kamaldien’s work focuses on human rights and socio-political consciousness. The artist independently produced the documentary films, Imagina na Copa and Inside Kobane, taking him to Brazil and Syria respectively.  As Production Manager, Kamaldien formed part of the team behind the 2014 award winning film Miners Shot Down. He has participated in artist residencies at Greatmore Studios and Open Lab at the Vryfees Festival and held a number of solo and group photo exhibitions, including Faces of Revolution, a photographic series documenting Arab Spring protests in Yemen.
