Bulelani Mabutyana

Bulelani Mabutyana is a published playwright, actor and director, a Magnet theatre graduate and past recipient of the ICA’s emerging directors’ programme.  As an actor he has appeared in the adaptation of Zakes Mda’s The Heart of Darkness directed by Mark Fleishman, and in Brink Scholtz’s Running away with Gold Fish. He has adjudicated and directed for the Artscape High School Drama Festival as well as the Zabalaza Theatre Festival at the Baxter Theatre Centre. 

Lwanda Sindaphi is a theatre maker, actor, puppeteer, artistic director of Lingua Franca Spoken Word Movement and published playwright and poet. A Magnet Theatre graduate, he is currently pursuing his Honours in Playwriting at the University of Cape Town and he holds an Advanced Diploma in Theatre Making. Recently he was nominated for four Fleur du Cap awards and won three with his multidisciplinary work, KUDU (Best New Director, Best New South African Script and Best Ensemble).  Sindaphi was named Best Playwright at the National Arts Council Market Theatre incubator awards in 2018. He recently toured France with his children's play, Paired; other recent stage works from his pen include Songs of this Soil - The Musical (Artscape), Ingqanga (UCT and UHAMBO) and Esiseleni Sedini (In the Cell of Sacrifice) Theatre Arts Admin.
