Kwanele Thusi aka Finch
Kwanele Thusi has a BA from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Since 2015, he has collaborated with the Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative and Drama for Life, teaching and mentoring, and also creating solo works for festivals such as AfroVibes, My Body My Space, and a collaboration titled AfriQueer, directed by Warren Nebe, which was performed in Botswana and The National Arts Festival where it won the 2016 Adelaide Tambo Award for Human Rights. He is a senior lecturer in Theatre and Movement Studies at the University of Witwatersrand and is currently developing a book on Dance Theory and Dance Composition – an investigation into how and why black artists create in the 21st century.
