Leán Bakker with Sipho Fubesi, Gita Galina & Jitsvinger

Leán Bakker is a dancer, choreographer and performance artist. She started her performing career as a member of the PACT Dance company in 1988, and since then has choreographed and performed works for all the major arts festivals in South Africa. As a performer she is constantly reinventing her means of expression as her body changes and ages.

Jitsvinger is an established Cape Flats-born conceptual writer, composer, guitarist, educator, musician, poet and performing artist. He is a social commentator on issues concerning heritage, culture, and especially the Afrikaans language.

Gita Galina is a creative who started her career performing a mix of street/ballet freestyle dance in Cape Town. This lead to a busking contract with the V&A in their street performance programme, where she’s danced for 3 seasons.

Tenor, Sipho Fubesi studied music at the University of Cape Town. In 2008 he moved to the UK to study at the Royal Northern College of Music. Sipho is currently touring South Africa, performing in all the different corners of the country.
