The urban space offers a rich variety of playgrounds, and sometimes, these are vertically spread. From iconic historical landmarks in Paris to the modern-day skyscrapers of Singapore, Companie Retouramont has been transforming the sides of buildings to jaw dropping stages and awe inspiring backdrops for three decades. Recognised worldwide for setting the bench mark in vertical dance, the company seldom shies away from a challenge, whether an unchartered surface, a new cityscape or experimental interdisciplinary exhange. But the creation of an apparatus remains the base of founder and choreographer Fabrice Guillot’s artistic research which leads him to work with architects, sculptors and circus artists and invent new ways of rigging, to challenge gravity and movement in the third dimension.
