Die Skrif is aan die Muur
By: Kanya Viljoen
South Africa, I am writing you a letter. One that has been written before. One that is etched on a bathroom wall like a confession of love by a teenage girl. I am sorry. It might not be legible.
Die Skrif Is Aan Die Muur is a live art installation piece that scribes an immersive and participatory performative letter to South Africa. Audience members are invited into a public bathroom where they write their own letters against the walls, probing how the public becomes private, and in turn, the private, public.
