You may find him checking how many likes he’s received, puffing and passing, feeling himself, demeaning himself; at the depth of it all is him finding him.
Ta. is a live art, documentary style, pop culture performance that is driven by beats of interruption, dislocation and the vernacular. Ta. signifies a turning away from the accepted and dominant ‘intellectual vocabulary’ and tries to adopt a new position which draws from idiomatic language. It also signifies a turning toward, not to the romantic, but to the deliberate and considered, positioning itself as an ideological remaking through culture – the culture of the cool-pop-sad-suave-fuckboysexythunda, ta. The work serves as an immersion along/to/within the language of the popular – its particularities, complexities, slippages and distinctiveness.
