How did meaning and fulfilment in life become so intrinsically bound to the Work that one does? Uirtus is the first performative investigation in a series of questions regarding Work. Latin for “excellence”, the word is reminiscent of a school motto, calling for pupils to embody and achieve what is often a vague or unattainable ideal. Responding to corporatised city spaces, Uirtus contrasts performing bodies to their place in the economy as well as to the bodies of workers occupying these corporate spaces.
