Kenan Petersen

Kenan Petersen is a conceptual artist who places the idea before the execution. Due to this emphasis on concept, his works cross many mediums - painting, film, poetry, sculpture, performance art and installation. He has exhibited at Youngblood Gallery, Goethe45 Gallery, and Hazard Gallery. His work has been featured in various South African newspapers, and he is a regular contributor to the Cape Town Partnership’s art space in Church Square during First Thursdays.

Due to his prolific body of work, as well as the artists he has worked with, he was named the 2015 Creative Nestlings Young + African Curator of the Year.
