Michael Fitzmaurice

Michael Fitzmaurice is a graphic designer, artist and filmmaker. His work and methods are based in digital production, spanning a range of media.

He is interested in creative work that is evocative, emotive and contemplative: that relates experience, evokes feeling, provokes thought and encourages contemplation. Michael believes there is an ever more important place for the textural, sensual and experiential in this digital age. Moreover, that it is important to maintain and reinvent expressive traditions within an ever commodified, technological world.

He is also interested in the contrasting streams of thought and endeavour, and the exciting possibilities that arise in their fusion: creative practices that are enabled by technology, yet are grounded in an intimate connection with the natural/physical world.
