Le Kombi
By: Jeannot Kumbonyeki
In his first solo work, Jeannot Kumbonyeki draws a parallel between the state of his home country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and public transportation in Kinshasa, its capital and largest city. He tells stories from the (in)famous ‘kombis’ - privately owned minibus taxis, often responsible for reckless driving, with passengers spending several hours in these overcrowded vehicles in the heat each day.
