Magwalandini
By: Breeze Yoko
Breeze Yoko’s whimsical, yet powerful, murals unfurl a kind of humanity and beauty that re-imagine their environments. In a search for new methods to "read the city", he uses a visual vocabulary that addresses many different social and political issues. By merging several seemingly incompatible worlds, he finds that movement reveals an inherent awkwardness, a humour that echoes our own vulnerabilities.
The mural, Magwalandini, reflects on the significance of cattle in the culture of many South Africans.
