Melting Pot
By: Jean-Michel Rolland
A generative artwork in three parts, Melting Pot runs continuously off a personal computer screen projection. Not quite installation and not quite video, what happens visually is calculated in real time by the computer and never once repeats.
The work tackles questions regarding globalisation and the eventual harmonisation of races, cultures and religions, asking: in the future do we imagine a world where we all look the same? Will all our differences in culture and religion disappear? Will this harmonisation end racism and bring peace at last?
