Body of Evidence

Body of Evidence

By: Mud and Fire Parables

The Body of Evidence Project is a stop gender-based violence and femicide campaign that has been launched to address the impact of gender-based violence in South Africa. This multifaceted initiative incorporates multiple ways of engaging the virtual community, hosted by www.bodyofevidence.co.za and associated social media platforms. It is also linked to a 24/7 hotline established to support those impacted by such violence, and to help them take back power and rebuild their lives. The project features a series of short, powerful musical, dance, visual, narrative, poetry and conceptual video pieces, and served as a job creation opportunity for new and established creatives at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is designed to galvanise a new way of thinking about our humanity and our responsibility to each other, and to build a counter-movement embracing all levels of society.

Body of Evidence by Mud and Fire Parables supported by Distell.
