Don’t Label Me
By: Nadine Mckenzie
Don’t Label Me is a site-specific work that explores and questions the labels we place on each other as a society and even on ourselves. Throughout the piece, the artists explore how these labels affect usmentally, emotionally, physically and socially.By labelling one another we exclude and isolate each other, we place each other in boxes based on our own ideas and perceptions. What would happen if these labels were to be stripped away?
