By: Maganthrie Pillay
LockDown Blues: A Movement in Three Parts is a new hybrid form experimental performance and film that features a conversation between three artists -- Maganthrie, Ayanda and Tarania -- who spent lock down in different ways, and who use different mediums to express their creativity and articulate personal and political issues. This is a visual expression in three movements, where the characters start the journey with heartbreak and loss, grapple with relationships, confront anger isolation blues, social isolation, fear of infecting and infection, and move finally to a new understanding as their journey towards themselves deepens on the dawn of the Age of Aquarius.
