Zizojik' Izinto

Zizojik' Izinto is a poetic and absurdist short (5 minute) film that combines documentary-style footage with a tidal wave of surrealist performance, music, and animation. The focus of the film is to document and share the Covid-19 PTSD and grief  experience of a registered nurse in South Africa. The project will be performed and shot in two site-specific locations in the East of Johannesburg.  The nurse will be interviewed and the audio recordings will form the bulk of the film's audio. The performance will be performed by Carla Fonseca, and it will be strongly influenced by Japanese Butoh techniques and aesthetics. This form of technique will allow people to fill in the gaps with their own memories and associations with Covd-19 grief and its PTSD.
