Embody Balance is a live music and dance piece that was birthed out of the Covid-19 burden. The aim of this piece is to re-centre the body, mind and soul by spiritually connecting with ourselves. Through the sound of South African traditional music and instruments, an imaginary welcome and safe space is created. Impepho is burnt to cleanse the space of all the heavy and unwanted energies mostly caused by mental health difficulties and grieving for our loved ones. While the cleansing process takes over, a conscious dancer gracefully invades the space. With help from the movement and music, our bodies will therapeutically release our unprocessed emotions. Audiences will have a choice to connect with the piece through music only or movement only.
