Manuela Holzer

Manuela Holzer (born in 1990) is currently a full time sculptor and PhD student at the University of Pretoria and is permanently based in Cape Town. Her sculptures thus far depict female figures which are autobiographical representations of madness such as anxiety and depression. The focus of Holzer’s PhD study, however, is the first-hand experience of psychosis expressed through artmaking by herself and by other mad individuals.
