Bayeza (They are coming), is taken from the notion of waiting patiently for an ancestor to manifest. The work is a quest for a contemporary ritual realm that investigates how societies adapt and contemporise their ritual norms during Covid-19 lockdown restrictions and regulations. Lockdown has taken humans to a space of rethinking and restating their customs, values and beliefs - practising them in a contemporary context to adapt to a new world.
