The Secret Garden

Covid-19 shed light on the food insecurity that communities face in and around Cape Town.  To eradicate food insecurity, we need to look to localised solutions to ensure communities don’t go hungry and have access to fresh food at an affordable cost. We need to turn to food self-sufficiency. This short documentary will showcase three community gardens in the Salt River area, and will cover issues including the nutritional value and cost of growing one’s own produce, local foraging, medicinal plant remedies and food preservation.
