Andrew Putter and CPUT Graphic Design
Andrew Putter is an artist and teacher with extensive experience in the creation of public projects. He currently works with the Cape Town Partnership (CTP), where he focuses on public projects that involve communication across social divides. In a recent project with CTP, Andrew facilitated research involving the Greenmarket Square Traders’ Association, the Department of Economic Development in the City of Cape Town, and CPUT 3rd year Industrial Design students. His work as an artist has been exhibited widely, including at the Venice Biennale and Havana Biennale, and is held in a number of collections - the Smithsonian Museum of African Art and the Zeitz MOCAA among others.
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) offers Graphic Design as a subject at both its Cape Town and Bellville campuses - one of a number of design subjects offered within the Faculty of Informatics and Design. Among the teaching staff are a number of well-known artists and designers.
