Alexandra Karakashian and Buhlebezwe Siwani are Johannesburg-born artists who are currently reading for their Masters degrees at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town. In April 2014 they decided to form a collective based on the interest each had in the other’s work - Alexandra is primarily a painter, whilst Buhlebezwe is a performance artist.

They are interested in both the materiality and duality of objects: how objects speak to material and how material can be self–referential. Their work also explores the structural nature of material and its ability to maintain its own language.

Alexandra has recently participated in Small Canvas Project, Benetton Foundation, Venice (2014 -2015) and In the Night I Remember, Stevenson (2013). Buhlebezwe has recently participated in Scintilla: An Alchemy Show, Commune 1 (2014), and Between Subject and Object, Michaelis Galleries (2014).
