Themba Mbuli

Award-winning choreographer and dancer Themba Mbuli obtained his professional training at Moving into Dance Mophatong (MIDM) in 2007, joining the Inzalo Dance and Theatre Company in 2008, and working as a performer, dance teacher and choreographer at MIDM from 2009 to 2010. He has performed in works by internationally acclaimed choreographers such as Philippe Pelen Baldini (!AIA), Gregory Maqoma, Moeketsi Koena, Sylvia Glasser, Thabo Rapoo and Kent Ekberg.

Themba’s latest solo, Dark Cell, has been presented in Sweden, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Uganda and at several large festivals in South Africa including the GIPCA Live Art Festival, National Arts Festival, Infecting The City and Arts Alive. He is Associate Artistic Director of the Broken Borders Arts Project and the Un-Mute Dance Company.
